OVERVIEW
The Jackson County AmeriCorps Program is now recruiting potential members to serve! Potential members are recruited throughout Jackson County. Potential members can learn about the program at public events, at area colleges, and from the national AmeriCorps website.

As an AmeriCorps member, you will gain valuable experience in an area of community service that interests this can translate directly into job experience in your chosen field. You will learn teamwork, communication, responsibility, and many other essential skills that will benefit you for the rest of your life. This experience will provide the opportunity for you to gain personal satisfaction by taking on a challenge and seeing results while serving your community.

Jackson County AmeriCorps members perform many duties within the community that address the educational needs of adults and children and volunteerism for non-profits. Members may serve at American Red Cross, Anchor House, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, Child Care Network, Girls Inc, Girl Scouts, Jackson County Public Library, Jackson County United Way, and Read Jackson County. Members serve in roles including: program coordinators, technology assistants, tutors, and volunteer managers. Service project activities occur at various sites throughout Jackson County throughout the course of the year.
