Head Start provides comprehensive preschool programming for children ages three through five. Children attend classes five days a week, four hours per day for 160 days. The program provides transportation to and from the centers when possible. Two meals are served each day so that children receive two-thirds of the recommended daily allowance of nutritional foods. Families receive educational training on various topics each month. The program works with special services to provide services to children with disabilities and work with families to ensure children are up-to-date on their well care schedules. Seventy children are enrolled in the Jackson County program.
