Red Cross relies heavily on its 300-plus dedicated volunteers to carry out it's mission and provide it's services and programs. Current programs and services offered include, but are not limited to, disaster assistance (food, clothing, shelter and other necessities) to families and individuals, sending volunteers to help in large national disasters, and providing support services to local emergency responders. Even before disaster strikes, Red Cross teaches people how to prepare for and respond to minimize potential injury and destruction and empowers people with the knowledge they need to create safer homes, communities, workplaces and schools. We teach life-saving skills through our First Aid, CPR, AED (Automated External Defibrillator,) lifeguard, swimming, Blood borne Pathogen, BAT (Basic Aid Training,) and Babysitter's Trainings, provide First Aid care at local events, and supply safe and adequate blood and blood products when needed. Families separated by military service rely on Red Cross to keep them connected in times of crisis and sometimes provide financial assistance as well as helping veterans with some of their issues.
