JCUW Kicks Off 55 Years of Service

55 years ago, volunteers hit the street following the 1st annual Jackson County United Fund Kickoff Dinner.  With a goal of $69,700 to support 11 local agencies Don Bollinger, president, and George Boas, Drive Chair began a county tradition that continues today!  A tradition that brought the entire county together to support programs and services that touched the lives either directly, or indirectly, of most families in the Jackson County.

Today, JCUW fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our county.  We do this work with deep partnerships and collaborations.  The funds raised from the annual campaign go to support our 20 certified community partners and their program work focused on their part of our mission.  The success of each campaign rests on the generosity of Jackson County residents who care enough about children, the abused, the homeless, those with special needs, seniors, and availability of emergency services to fight for our county and to open their wallets and give!

We invite you to be a part of our 55th Anniversary celebration and REACH 55 Campaign Kickoff on September 5th, 2017 at 6p.m. at American Legion Post #89.  This event is sponsored by AISIN USA and AVI Foodsystems.  We are honored for the support of the American Legion as a host and a 55 year donor.  Join us for a great meal and hear inspiring stories of 55 years of impact, or just take the opportunity to say “Happy Anniversary JACSY.”   We will also be saying a special thank you to all those who have given since the 1st campaign.

We hope that if you don’t give you will join us to hear why you should.  You have the opportunity to fight to change the lives of countless residents and families as you help continue the true generous spirit of those who founded Jackson County United Way 55 years ago.

Tickets for the event are $15 per person or $25 for couples.  Payment can be made over the phone, via check, or a promise to pay at the door.  Please reply by Tuesday, August 29 so we can effectively communicate with our caterers about total number of attendees next week.  RSVP to Marianne Willacker.  Marianne@jacsy.org or 812-522-5450
