VITA Certified Free Tax Assistance is a IRS-Certified program that provides free tax preparation to households making less than $66,000 a year. By filing for free and keeping their full refund, surveyed clients have been able to put money into savings, buy groceries, and pay rent and utilities.

The Day of Caring began in 1996 and has since expanded into a county-wide day of service, where area nonprofits and residents can receive help with outdoor projects. Volunteers spend the day giving back to the community by completing projects in painting, landscaping, and other client services.

Rock'n Ready is a Jackson County United Way program that focuses on preparing students for the first day of classes. Free, basic school supplies are provided for students from Kindergarten through 12th grade at a Jackson County school. Over the last three years, an average of 1,300 students have received the supplies they need to start the year on the right foot, setting them up for educational success in the classroom.

EVENTS
The fundraiser, Jackson County Hidden Voice, is designed to uncover issues in our community to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to thrive. The idea behind this fundraiser is to have eight local celebrities perform two songs while dressed in a mascot costume that conceals their identity. They will leave the audience wondering who is behind the mask. The audience votes for their favorite performer, raising money for Jackson County United Way.

Join us for year two of Puttin' for a Purpose Golf Scramble! This scramble will be held at Shadowood Golf Course (33 N Sandy Creek Dr., Seymour, IN 47274) on Friday, September 12. Registration opens at 7:00 am and shotgun start at 8:00 am. Lunch will be provided after.
